Being successful is every one’s desire but only quite a few are able to achieve success in their lifetime. Success for many is wealth, fame & power or a combination of all the three, Many may find success in finding the inner peace.
No matter the outcome of success, the one thing common in the process of the said achievement is “Habits”
Habits define whether a person would be successful.
Let’s look at what actually is a Habit:-
“A habit is a routine of behaviour that is repeated regularly and tends to occur subconsciously”
People who are successful give most of the credit to their habits for their success. They make sure that they don’t get a good habit spoiled and develop a bad one. They keep their discipline in check so as to avoid the negative outcome as success do come up with few cons and many tend to loose the focus once they attain a certain level of success.
Being successful is one thing and staying successful is another.
Usually a habit is easily to be cultivated or developed when one is young, that’s why successful people make it a must for their children to develop good habits at a very young age. It’s not that a habit cannot be developed at a later stage of life; it’s that when young it’s easier.
A good habit developed gets so much imbedded in the subconscious mind that very seldom one loose it, rather it gets evolved as one progresses in life. The only thing required to develop a powerful habit is strong will power.
Here I have tried to list out few habits that may help one to get the desired success in life
1. Get Up Early
As we all have grown up listening to the famous lines that “Early to rise & early to bed, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”. It is true to a great extent and is one the most important habit successful people follow rigorously without fail. Early risers tend to get things done with more efficiency and the results are much better. Rising early isn’t an easy habit to cultivate, but can be achieved with a little bit of discipline and focus. Getting up early helps one use the free time to tackle personal projects, plan the day, or make time for exercise, It gives a sense of confidence that you, need to direct your life.
2. Exercise Daily
Working out regularly makes one fit and it clears the thought process which results you to be more motivated. It gives a sense of satisfaction as one tends to be more confident if one looks young and fit. Even investing 30 minutes for aerobic exercise like jogging, biking or walking each day can do wonders for you. Many successful business leaders make sure to work out as it has proven to double their productivity.
Successful people have all the resources they’ll ever need to keep themselves fit and healthy. They can afford lipo, Botox and spa retreats. And yet exercise is still a part of their daily habits. Studies show that exercise can boost creativity and productivity by as much as two hours. It makes you smarter too.
Daily exercise keeps your brain healthy, minimizes stress, and improves memory.
3. Book Reading
Books are known to be your best friend for a reason.The habit of reading is one of the best qualities that a person can possess. It helps in building confidence, knowledge, reduces stress and makes your mood better. Reading helps you learn from the mistakes and successes of others. Instead of just diving in; relying on your guts and motivation to lead you, reading gives you a mental map to bypass rookie mistakes people make in life.
Reading helps you to shape your character to a great extent. It boosts your confidence and your personality. You will approach life differently and everything you are surrounded with. It enhances your social skills as well.
Reading develops mental health and stimulation. It enhances your imagination power
Reading helps you in an improving vocabulary both in communication and writing. You will also get acquainted with perfect usage of grammar and languages.
Meditating at the start of the day makes a huge difference in your life. Focusing on your breathing, just for 10 to 15 minutes in the morning gets you into a mind-set where you’re better able to step back from the thoughts and emotions that might cloud your thinking.
Meditation is the process of continuous focus on one object for a prolonged period of time. It is a gentle, subtle method which does not require any force or pressure on the mind. The result you gain out of the practice is increased concentration and focus.
With sound mindfulness you are able to approach situations with much more clarity to better focus on what’s really important and prioritize your time accordingly, both professionally and personally.

Discipline is just choosing between what you want now and what you want most and the truth is anyone who ever made anything important was disciplined.
The single most important attribute to becoming successful is self-discipline. It helps you stick to the work you want to get it done in order to achieve success. It also gives you the power and inner strength to overcome addictions, procrastination and laziness and to follow through whatever you do.
Discipline is like to start an engine. Once kick-started, it provides energy for the whole system. To sum it up, motivation is trying to feel like doing things while discipline is doing things even if aren’t very enthusiastic about it.
Discipline gives you the power to stick to your decisions and follow them through, without changing your mind, and is therefore one of the important requirements for achieving goals. 8. Good Company
To be successful keeping good company is very important. The people around you affect the way you live your life and the way you see the world.
There is an old saying- “A man is known by the company he keeps”
It is very true as if we are with positive people, we tend to be more positive and it gives us feeling of joy and happiness, which helps us to be positive and be better at judging things.
Surround yourself with people who have goals, want to accomplish something in life, reach somewhere and be something. No matter which area or field they are trying to excel in, the common denominator is that they have clarity about life and know exactly what their goals are.
It is important to understand that negativity generally comes from unhappy people and those who envy you. Happy successful people don’t tear others down. Surround yourself with ambitious, positive people. Being negative has never brought anyone a good life.

9. Learn From Failures
There is not a successful person who has never failed at anything, in fact we all do. What differentiates the normal with the successful is that the latter learn from their failures and try again keeping in mind the mistakes they did previously. Failure is not viewed as bad luck by successful people, Instead they view failure as just an opportunity to try again, because while you’re failing, you’re learning and you’re growing. If you take anything from this always remember that failure leads to success.
Without failure, we’d be less capable of compassion, empathy, kindness, and great achievement; we would be less likely to reach for the moon and the stars. It’s through failure that we learn the greatest lessons that life could teach us.
Failure makes us stronger. Those same weight lifters who lift to failure also have learned that is the way they build muscle. At first the tissue is damaged, but it’ll heal bigger and stronger than before. Knowledge gained from our failures lasts longer than those from our successes.

Time is the most valuable commodity in today’s world. One, who values time, is most likely to be successful. It is a habit that must be inculcated in the early stage of life as it becomes very difficult to manage it later as one grows old. Being punctual helps us to accomplish our tasks on time and so we can concentrate on some other areas which help us to develop and do other assigned tasks in future in a better way.
People start respecting you as they have a complete confidence that a punctual person may not let anybody down. Punctuality is one of the most important qualities of famous leaders.
Punctuality infuses trust upon you as people consider a punctual person to be more trustworthy than a person who is usually late. Punctuality is a virtue that leads to great achievements in life. Being punctual strengthens and reveals your integrity. Punctuality is a very basic and essential quality that every person should possess.
Punctuality is one of those positive habits of a person absolutely tied to timeliness. It is one of most important the secrets behind any successful person. No leader is great who is not punctual.
